Last night Pearl's perch fell and I just found out when I woke up this morning. I noticed that under her right nostril is a like pink patch. It's very small and her behavior hasn't changed but I got a picture. What do you guys think I should do? Just watch it and see what happens? I made sure my hands were clean and Pearl let me touch it so it much not be bothering her. This is just the first time I noticed it and I don't like it being there.

Mine has the same thing. He likes to take off and fly, but he's clipped and can't steer so he tends to crash into things. Silly bird. Even sillier person chasing after a flying bird.

I assumed he just knocked a feather out. It wasn't bleeding, it didn't bother him, he let me touch it. Didn't change anything in his personality, so I assumed it doesn't bother him.

Mishka had almost the same injury, he scratched himself with his nail.......
BUT if you are worried it might be something more serious, please take Pearl to the vet, as I always say RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Okay I'm going to watch for a little while and if I see any changes or that it's irritating her I'll take her to the vet asap. I'm just glad that it's small and not a bump. If it was a little bump I would probably get all nervous and start freaking out. It's just like a tiny patch of feather gone.

Just wanted to let you guys know that this must have been a little scratch because its covered back up with feathers now! It's a late update but I'm happy it's gone now.

This happened to my quaker a couple months ago. It was a little red patch just like that, right under his eye. I might've overreacted a bit- we ended up going to the emergency vet. I think they thought I was nuts, couldn't find anything wrong with him (but of course charged me a pretty penny ;)), and by the next day it was gone. He probably just rubbed his face wrong on his cage or a toy or something.

Glad to hear it's better!
