SO I have had my cockatiel for about three weeks! Lucy is a bird that was found and she is very friendly! When I give her love and attention sometimes she does this tiny little clucking sound, it's so soft and gentle, like a baby chicken, but she is shaking ever so slighty and has her bum in the air a little bit. Is she feeling hormonal or does she just love me?

She's just enjoying the affection, Lisa. Our lutino does this when she's patted and scratched.

Oh thanks Mikey. well it's very cute. Rocky doesn't make those sounds when I pat him!

lol Mikey's another dude, I'm plain Mike. Our males don't make any noises when scratched, either :)

My tiel makes a cricket sound, squats down and "nests" on my chest when he's entirely happy and relaxed.

It's just affection. You may notice he might regurgitate on you later on. Don't worry as this is a good thing; he just loves you.

Good luck & Happy Holidays!
