It is odd, but true that although dowels are bad for Parrot, square cornered perches are worst as that style increases the load on specific pads that cause pressure damage quicker. Long story really short! Natural hard wood branches with variation over its length is what they are naturally designed for!! And thicker is always better, especially for sleeping perches.
