Well... I got.... a 5 week old Blue and Gold Macaw Baby! I named him/her Jesse (if a boy) or Jessie (if a girl).... LOL I'd be lieing if I said I wasn't nervous about having one so young... BUT all is going well, I have hand fed before and feedings are doing great. I guess what's making me more nervous is the fact that it has no feathers... Just pin feathers STARTing to come out.... yeah.. Starting... LOL But it's so ugly it's cute! HAHAHA I'm thrilled! :blue1:

Congrats, you've been waiting a long time. They are so ugly they are cute, I kinda get some people think they descend from dinosaurers.lol Have fun

Haha ooh you lucky! I want a macaw but I'm in no position to have one :/

Congrats on the new baby! :D

Jesse/ie is gorgeous! I think they're adorable when they are that young! :)

Oh so lovely, cute and ugly haha that's why we love them so much. Luckily they changes each day, and become the most beautiful creatures on this earth.
Congrats'

My two gorgeous sons Sean and Steven took me out to breakfast, breakfast was great yummy yummy.
Spending precious time with my sons was the ultimate Mother's day gift.

I call 'em pinkies for a reason when they are just hatched ;)
Congrats on your little one!

I didn't get much, I don't think my budgies knew it was mother's day.
All they did was attempt to rip out my hair and nails :(

Congrats! Babies are so cute.

I got a shopping trip all for myself. It was great.

Don't forget to add Jesse/ie to your bird list on your profile.... :)

Ahhhhhhh you are sooooo lucky. Makes me wish I was a mother hahahahaha! I'm still hoping on that African Grey or Blue & Gold Macaw.

Congrats on your new bundle, I'm sure you will have lots of stories over the next few weeks to share and pictures too, i love watching them grow up. Way too cute. Nothing like a naked baby Macaw. I love that their heads are so big compared to their bodies and can barley hold them up. Keep in touch with his/her progress. Joe

How cute! I've never actually seen one that young before. Congrats!

@ MikeTN - Haha thanks I didn't even think about that.
@ Mrdoramike - You'll have one soon! I waited 2 yrs for this little one and honestly I have anxiety about what I have got myself into.... HAHA
@ Jjones - I will show as many photos as I can
@ Darkling - Yeah it's so ugly it's cute.... LMAO

We took my wife (the mother of my four children) to visit my baby GW still at the breeders. Mardy is 18 weeks old now. My wife hasn't seen Mardy for the past 7 weeks due to travel and illness. You can image how different he was from the last time she'd seen him. She was nervous about his size (28 inches) and did not want to hold him. I hope that she'll be more comfortable next weekend.

I got to wake up at 5:15 am to do clinicals. Boo! But I get my birthday/mothers day present on the 20th. My cute little CAG, with a bit of red factor, maybe. :)

@ Mike - Yeah when they are big and I don't know the bird... it's a bit intimidating but he's still a baby... just let her know that keep telling her... LOL
@ Abzeez- Lucky YOU! My husband made me fall in love with GAC's they make me laugh! As as beautiful as Catalina Macaws are.. My next bird will be a GAC.. pending on how well I handle Jessie... LMAO!

Little late for this, but I am so jealous! I would love to have a large macaw. I am intimidated by large birds but if I hand fed them myself I bet I would be less wary of them than I am of Savannah. She will sneak attack me if I am not paying attention. lol

lmao Skycon. Yes Im intimidated by large birds as well but since I'm hand feeding it and raising it I will know it's personailty and actions so I can see things coming b4 they hit! LOL OMG last night I startled the little thing and he was SCREAMING HAHA OMG was he screaming... I was talking to him softly and petting him to calm him down.. Poor thing.. I took the blanket off the tank in the kitchen and the light was on and he opened his eyes and started screaming! HAHA

Oh, I bet they are loud. Savannah can give me a headache by her own little self. That would be my main fear on getting a large bird, the noise. I get headaches very easily.

Right now Savannah is on my shoulder whispering and clicking into my ear. It is all rather cute.
