After thinking about this for a long time (since you made the thread)

I've decided the bird I'd MOST Love to see in person is my BABY

We miss him Terribly

Aww... Great answer Joe!! :D

Hyacinths are beautiful birds with big personalities, but are just as much work as you'd expect. The 4 in the photo are actually only 4 out of 7 - mum, dad and 5 young from two different clutches. Some of the most gentle birds I've ever met.
Not pets, and not quite zoo animals - I got the opportunity to spend some time with these birds during an internship at a breeding facility called Al Wabra.

I'm not actually sure what the captive status of the Pesquet's parrot is, but I can't imagine there'd be many around. Not the prettiest parrot, but very smart and VERY boisterous. I cared for a couple at the same facility as the Hys.

Wow! You got to work at Al Wabra?!

That must've been interesting!

Interesting is a slight understatement, it was some of the best months of my life - amazing animals, amazing people :)

Saw them, fed them, got bitten once or twice. Unfortunately I legally can't share any photos of Spix's or Lear's - the Brazilian government is extremely protective of these species, and rightly so.
I want to stress though that I'm no expert on them, I was only there for a couple of months.

I'D KILL FOR THAT... ! (Well, not literally, but... Yeah, that's pretty much bird nerd mecca.)
