Our ringneck is about 10 months old, we've had her for around 4 month.

She's still afraid of us, taming her is going slowly; she accepts treats from our hands (snatches them away and runs off to eat them, lol). If you approach her cage too closely or put your hands near her she panics.

But lately we've noticed when we make silly noises at her, like kissy noises or popping noises, she sometimes goes into this weird trance where she slowly nods/bows her head down and stays transfixed like it for a while. I know what normal female ringneck hormonal behaviour is and this doesn't seem like it, her eyes aren't pinning much and she isn't doing that "gravy boat" pose (don't know how else to describe it 😂), the pose where their backs are completely straight and they crane their necks back while making little chicken noises, if you know Beaker and Tinkerbell from YouTube, it's the pose Tinkerbell does a lot - it's not that. She doesn't make any noises and she's slouching over forwards, not craning backwards. (and at 10 months surely she's still too young for hormonal behaviour?)

It's confusing because she's still afraid of us - if this is enjoyment, does it make sense that she's still afraid of us?

What does it mean?

I have a video of it, not sure how to post it here though.

I love your "gravy boat" description of a hormonal female "asking for it"! What you're describing in your IRN sounds like she's asking for a head/neck scratch. Bowing he head usually means "scratch me there". I'm not sure I would try it unless you're prepared for a nip.
