Watch my baby grow!

He's so cute!!!! It's amazing watching them grow from little babies to big babies :) makes me wish I could've seen chili's baby pictures

I love mysafebirdstore too!! I was amazed at how well they packed everything, and they gave me a few extra toys and a bag of candy for me! Definitely impressed with them.

So my baby isn't a little baby anymore! He looks so different every time I see a picture of him! He is around 2 1/2 months old now! His breeder says he is a very mellow little guy.

awwwww what a cutie

Aww...such adorable pictures with watching your Eclectus grow. Reminds me of when we got our SI Eclectus Joaquin. We use to visit him every other weekend and would have coffee and lunch with the breeder and her family. It was quite the experience of being able to visit him as he was growing up and becoming weaned.

After he comes home there are two ways the adjustment could go down. Easy as pie with no issues or with a lot of adjustment with a scared confident baby. Even though we visited Joaquin every other weekend after he was weaned and ready to come home his adjustment was very difficult. All the work I put into helping him adjust was worth it. In the end he was my best therapy pet and loved to help others. Joaquin had a special gift and it was an honor to be able to be part of it. Even after all this time I miss him and his company.

I bet you can't wait until Kai comes home.

I really can't wait! I'm so excited to have my bird. I had a conure, who about 6 months ago, passed away due to a careless pet sitter, so I think bringing Kai home will help me finally move on. Trucker is a good bird but he's not MY bird. Kai will be all mine! Hopefully lol. I'll love him either way.

Awwww haha he looks like a little burnt chicken haha but he's so cute, good luck with him! I bet you're so excited

Edit: just saw the more recent pics.. Mann is he beautiful!! What a great little birdie you have there

His breeder seems to be a really nice guy. I've never met him in person so I only have e mails to work with, but he is always willing to answer my questions and he weans his babies onto a good diet.

Goodness me he sure is beautiful. I find baby parrots, like my Pugs, to be so ugly they are cute lol.

Just curious as to why you chose a boy? I know most people do due to things like laying eggs & egg binding, was that it or the color? Personally I'm partial to girls (just better at naming them and such, haha), but I can usually understand why people want boys (personally I'm fine with whatever they end up with, haha) but just curious if it was that, or the striking color! If I got an electus I'm not sure i could CHOOSE, just need to leave it up to the gods.. Haha.
 Well have a good day!

I chose a male as most people who own females say they can be very tempermental, they are very bossy, they tend to like to pick a "nest area" and just want to guard it all the time. Whereas most everyone who owns a boy said they were mellow, affectionate, good with the whole family, etc. A male is more my speed. :) looks had nothing to do with it, I think the eclectus is beautiful yes, but that's not what drew me to them. I was drawn by their unique dietary needs, their personality, the fact that they produce less dander, and the fact that they are a larger bird, but not a huge bird. Pretty much everything I read about the male solomon island eclectus was a perfect fit for me.

My boy is looking good, only one more month til he comes home! Can't wait to go pick him up! I'm nervous about him having to fly, but his breeder has shipped many times so that's reassuring.

Very cool! I have just got a baby eckie too! Picked him up on the weekend =) I had similar reasons in wanting a male plus I have always got on with males of all kinds better than females (including human on many occasions). My breeder was also great about sending pictures and videos as my boy grew =) it's great to see your boys progress too!

Oh my goodness, is he beautiful. I would be an impatient mother to be as well. Congratulations!
