Warning, rant... I feel like the rescue didn't even consider us

I thought I would give an update. We have never heard from the rescue co-ordinator again. It seems if they couldn't place the hard to place birds with us, there was no other use for us. I know of other birds that have been placed in homes of other members, that would have been good fits with us. I'd like to mention this was a home That kept saying they don't want more birds (they had 6, and now have 8)I doubt that there haven't been other birds, since we joined 4 months ago.
I watched online sales for birds for months. Never found anything.
I have decided to purchase from a breeder. I look forward to meeting the babies when they come available. He has said if we don't like the birds he breeds he will help us locate whatever species we want.
He's hard to meet up with because he is as busy in life as me,(he's renovating on top of regular life) but he literally lives down the road from us, and come spring he will give us pick of the litter, if we choose the white fronts.
I'm happy with our decision, and chatting with a few members here has made me much more comfortable with our choice.
I think, yes, if you find, and can give an older bird a loving home, then do it. But the narrow idea of only taking rehomes may be putting species in further danger of extinction. If you intend on giving a loving home, then there is no harm done in taking in babies.
Every individual you bring into your care should take careful consideration. No matter where they come from there are no guarantees. Only great hopes.
So here's to hoping we are making the best choice to our future!
