Hi everyone. Sorry been a while since i have updated on Fawx's progress. She is doing great. A very loving bird who only gets loud when she's hungry. (Don't they all) lol. She likes everyone in the house even my six yr old son. She is in her big girl cage and takes full advantage of the space. She flyes all over the house and even turns corners while in flight. She is an absolute joy and my precious little baby. Bayshing still hates my guts but other then that is a well behaved wonderfull bird as well. Just would rip my eyes out if she had the chance. lol. So my question is Fawx has been on 1 feeding a day for about 3 weeks now because durring the day i have witnessed her eating on her own. So how long should i wait before i start pulling her last feeding?

Willie's previous mommy handfed him until he was 7 months old. So you may have to kept doing it until he don't wait it anymore. BUT if he is eating really good on his own you might be able to cut the feeding period but keep up with his weight level to make sure he's not losing substantial weight.

I wouldn't wean, until she refuses formula... I also think that only one feed a day at this age isn't enough.... I would feed twice a day, if she'll take it...

Weigh daily-weekly to make sure his weight is stable...

Seeing her eat doesn't really mean that she is actually eating, but she's certainly trying...

Has she fledged?

My breeder told me GW's take longer than most to wean, I'd say no to stopping now, I also agree on twice a day til she refuses it.

I gave up on the am feedings because she wouldn't eat it anymore. She only excepts feedings at night. I tried 2 weeks and she just wouldn't eat in the am so i figured i would stop waisting the food. What exactly do you mean by is she fledged? Sorry im not sure. I think you mean is she flying and yes she is. Pretty good actually. But not sure if thats what you mean by fledged?

Fledged is flying yes, learning to fly, leaving nest.... :)
