My bird does it in to early summer. I'm looking forward to that time! Since I cut Amigo off from his mirror, he has been kissy, kissy, with his metal water bowl!

How cute! Puck thinks my boyfriend's and my hands are sexy when he is in season! He's a persistent little bugger.

Pete thinks my hand is sexy, too, now. I keep distracting him with a piece of wood to throw around instead.

My conures are off and on from about now to into fall. I don't know why there season seems different to amazons or Greys since they are all birds from the southern hemisphere or close to it. Pete and Merlin should be winding down soon, but Rowdy is just getting started.

Now I have only had female conures, but it seems like they have a day, or a few days all in a row that they are hormonal, then they are back to their normal selves a bit, then it cycles again. For whatever reason Rowdy is much more hormonal than Briana, my Blue Crown was. But, I always read that Nandays were very prolific breeders and Blue Crowns not quite as much, so I thought that was why, but I don't know for sure.

Well, he was still going at it this morning. Maybe I'll go to the store today and get him one of those angry birds stuffed animals. lol. I'm a little tired of cleaning up spilled water and food. Doesn't he know that his food is going to cost mommy a lot of money if he keeps wasting it? grr

My conures have always chosen toys to get it on with. With Pete it's a perch. I haven't seen Merlin do anything with anything. I know she's hormonal by some of her other actions, and her blood tests, but honestly, Rowdy is my worst one for getting her funk on. She can do it 5x a day, the little hussy.

:-O ROWDY! lol lol, this is still making me laugh. And poor Clifford just took an involuntary bath. You should have seen the look on his face. I swear he was just standing there looking at me out of the corner of his eye with his head down all dripping wet and thinking "you wouldn't be laughing if it were you" poor little guy.

Wait until you have guests over and these things are happening. Rowdy starts making this sound, and she does it faster and faster, and the bell on the toy starts ringing faster and faster. So everyone notices. And they say, "OMG, what is that bird doing?" And I just say, "What do you think she's doing?" Usually they are very shocked and didn't know birds did these things.
