A crossover Quaker Scuti (F), A Sun conure named AC, A Cinnamon Green Cheek conure Kent, and 5 budgies, yellow (m), clark Jr. (m), Dot (f), Zebra(f), Machine (m).
So some Romeo of one "clan/flock" seduced two sisters of a different flock at once. I buy these houses on amazon but the holes are so wide any bird can get in and I kept getting fights of big birds not letting the little budgies have a space. A buddy had some sheet metal so I machined it to make it big parrot proof. As such they felt safe enough, and.....had sex. Called the vet. Vet talked to receptionist that said if you want more budgies the just leave them alone the birds know what they are doing. Then explained to me what I have done before with getting rid of unfertilized unwanted eggs waiting 21 days removing one at a time etc. By the way 1 and 3/8 inch is the perfect budgie hole.

I'll point out the father is puking in both their mouths so good dad there.

I don't know what's going to happen or maybe the eggs aren't fertilized or what. The two female budgies are guarding their houses like it Fort Knox now that the big birds can't come in.

If they hatch I do have an extra cage and can bring them upstairs and put the families there until the babies can evade and protect themselves. When the budgies are out they are never attacked, but I think the big birds ...I don't know they smell the eggs and want them in the short term. But the bigger parrots are monitoring like crazy though. They like to watch like it day time drama TV.

I do have formula but the vet said don't worry about it and don't take time off, they know what they are doing which makes sense of course.

So may have new budgie babies as a result of not interfering. I'm just going to give it up to nature and if they hatch I'll give them a safe space for a bit in an empty bedroom then re-introduce.

Question 1: if I bring the houses and spare cage up will one sister try to kill the other sisters budgies? Or will they get along?

Question 2: Once bourn can I put them in the Tupperware bin like you see on videos and they all get along or will one sister try to kill the offspring of the other.

Question 3: If I pull out the chicks and hand feed them with formula to better bond, will the parents be ok or furious, they let me handle them but mostly only in distress, a like ok "yeah I need help" but prefer independence. They land on keyboard and don't fear me, if anything they would "probably" be on me all the time but my conures a Sun and a GCC kind of claim me I think it has to do more with them than a fear of me.

Question 4 : Is this even a good idea?

Question 5: Is it safe to introduce the babies before they can fly and escape? Now I said above that the large parrots don't attack the budgies but they were around when I introduced, and they were ALL babies, would bringing more young birds in destroy the alliance they all have? as far as the new ones.

Thank you for your time.

No it's great I've been on here for like five years and was a supporting member and was temp banned like twice? I'm ok with jokes! The mods all know me you're good!

I don't mind the jokes! I love them. I just haven't been on so much because everything was going great till now. I pop in time to time but not everyday like when I got my first.

Im not sure understand your set up. Please keep your big birds away from your breeding budgies. Not sure what they will do but dont risk it. Are your nesting females in one cage with separate nestboxes? If so, you have a real Romeo on your hands! Two girls? Bad boy!
It's never a good idea to have two nesting females in one cage because they can be real witches to each other.

Can be, but not always. The problem is that the girls need their man to feed them while incubating and will need his help feeding the kids. In your case I would put Romeo in a big cage with the two girls' boxes at opposite ends of the cage. You can just take the boxes with the girls and their eggs inside them, block the entry holes and move them to a big cage with Romeo. Give him LOTS of food- he will be eating for three plus babies if and when they hatch.

How many eggs do each of the girls have? Try to reduce the number to only two or three real, fertile eggs each and sub dummies for the excess.

One option is to move only one girl and her box and Romeo to the big cage and take the box and eggs away from the other girl. You could even give her eggs to the "chosen Mama" and let her hatch and raise them. She can't ID her own eggs or chicks and they don't count well either. The unchosen girl will get over it a a few days as long as Romeo is put of sight and her box is gone.

How long have the girls been sitting on eggs?
I don’t really understand question 2. Budgies are usually excellent parents so you should let them raise their own babies unless you really want to handraise them. It's challenging but not that difficult if you let me tell you exactly how to do it. I've raised three babies from hatching, one at a time, so I can help you do it successfully if you want to. Just expect to be available to feed them every two to three hours for the first couple weeks. Round the clock. And you will need a thermostatically controlled incubator/brooder (Amazon has Janoel-12 for about $50). Don't even think about doing it with a heat lamp or heating pad. A few degrees too warm will kill them fast.

If you want to let the girls raise their own and pull a chick or two at about 10 days old to hand raise that's would be okay too. If you wait too long to pull them for handfeeding they may not accept a human as Mama or feed from the spoon (never use a syringe-one mistake and they will die).

My breeding girl let me take her babies out of the box and handle then when they were 2 to 3 weeks old and no longer required her body heat. She and her mate would go in the box to feed them but didn't stay with them once they were covered in down and feathers were partially grown in. My girl wasn't even tame and she didn't care if I handled her kids at that age and put them back.

I'd keep the babies away from the big birds until they can fly. They learn to fly at about 4 to 5 weeks. Dad and Mom (mostly Dad) will feed the babies after they fledge and before they wean completely at about 6 weeks old.

This situation may work even with two girls with kids and one Romeo but it's iffy. Do the girls get along otherwise? Have you ever seen them fighting?

I hope this helps some. Ask more questions and I'll try to help.
