Tweety bird is adjusting well :)

Each day is an improvement for him. He will step up now to come out of his cage and is talking to everyone in the house. I built enough trust up that I can give him a grape from my mouth without the fear of a nip or him pulling away.

Proud of my daughter too. Last night after I went to bed she stayed by his cage talking to him and teaching him words. She decided to try giving him a cracker from her mouth and was able to lean in his cage and do so.

We have only had him about a 2 weeks and its awesome to see him go from scared / shaking in the cage to a playful and happy bird. There is still some issues to work out but this speedy progress is amazing.

They respond to love. And the turnaround can be immediate, or it can be slowly over time. Depends on the bird, and what the bird has been through.

The more you interact and handle them, the easier they are to work with and the more interactive they become.

When everyone around the bird does this, the bird learns to love and to trust everyone, and everyone can handle the bird.

It's really not rocket science! And macaws are amazing when they open up to you...

Good progress!! Be careful though of feeding from the mouth - human mouths are full of germs.
