Trying some art

OMG, I didn't remember that I made art on the 10th anniversary of this au
(I thought all the time that I ignored this date, lol)

Anyway, randomly I reminded this art because I just finished drawing another "poster" of this au - both of them originally were in my mind on the earliest beginning of its creating - 2 years ago I chose the version above because it was much easier - I didn't feel ready to draw the version with... all "11 original" parrots ("original" because now the squad is a bit different). But recently suddenly I felt ready and did it - it took me one week

It still isn't high quality but better style comparing to the 2022 version
When I saw this it reminded me of Smokey's very first mimic, not a word but a very sweet kissy noise which made my heart just melt!

I see I haven't posted here for awhile. Currently I'm more into writing than drawing but I keep drawing, just not posting here. Have the latest one (from today)

This one is unshaded but probably next month I'll start shading in a different way then I used to do it (actually, I have already made two arts in the new way but that's not parrot related and super simple, so I'm not sure how it will look like on parrots)

I don't think anyone remembers how once I was asked if I animate too and answered "no" - but anyways, it's outdated. Last year I started making some animations, however nothing is bird related because it's too hard - but I tried doing it:

I looked at the last post - it's been half year... I have made the mentioned shading tests on birds, I just didn't share because the drawn characters don't even belong to me. In general I'm very lazy when it comes to drawing birds, I think I'm drawing them less often and often without shading. I put more effort on stuff I'm more into right now (now all art I make from this category has full shading)

Your style is very whimsical and attractive. This is a cool animation :)

I really like this parrot! I think this kind of art is more creative than strictly realistic art. This parrot has big personality and character.

I'd make the lower beak blacker so you can see it as separate from the upper beak. I like the shading. It really looks like the sun is hitting his back left.

Last week I learnt that Parrot Crisis Awareness Day exists and it's today, so I did this:

I sometimes wonder how birds that migrate handle captivity. Don't they go a bit restless when migration time comes around and they are unable to. How does their biological clock and navigation system "shut off"? Are they long distance obligatory migrators or do they travel shorter distance semi-voluntarily? Where do they migrate to?

Cool STuff!!
Thank you

Honestly I don't know... but I'm pretty sure, next captive generations slowly have this biological clock "shut off". Even the mentioned this about captive OBPs wings being shorter proves that evolution keeps happening and "unnecessary" things are being "reduced" (you know, in captivity you don't need long wings... same with the navigation system). But for newly caught birds idk how it works
