Parrots
Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...Amy and I just got back from our local "AllPets" store. We went straight to the birdies of course, and there was an enclosure with a bunch of little BeeBee's in it..You should have seen those little rascals! As soon as they saw Amy looking in,they ALL came running over...I mean ALL of them!

Everyone of them was looking at her and chattering away lol...and Amy just chatted right back "helloooo...hi birddddd...kisskisskiss" the two girls in the department were just amazed lol.

And there was an open "table" with sun conures, and one was standing on the edge, and FLEW to my hand that didn't have Amy on it. Amy starts with the "bobbing" of the head/regurgitation thing  and mumbling away in 'zon speak.

I decided to get her nails done, the tips were getting quite pointy, and they do it for free for me :p I'd rather take her to her doctor, but coz we are going on a trip I figure might as well do it now. The assistant < very young girl> didn't even know what kind of 'zon she was  and her being hesitant of toweling Amy,which Amy doesn't like anyhow, just got the poor bird more anxious,so I told the girl "let me do it" and I toweled her, only for amy to bite thru the towel into my forefinger  yep,she drew blood too.

On the way back home, she rode on my shoulder, the seats in my car are leather, and she could no longer hold on with her trimmed nails. I stopped at the local dunkin donuts for an ice coffee and the girl at the window gave Amy a plain munchkin, which she promptly tore apart and littered me and my car with crumbs.
Amy is an excellent rider in the car..loves to look out the window, and babble away..I am sure she will enjoy our trip sunday.

I just ordered a travel cage for Willow, (as well as some new HUGE chew toys) and I'm looking forward to being able to take her with me. Not sure how the cage/harness situation is going to work, but nonetheless, I'm looking forward to taking her on a few trips with me to see how she does.

What a busy day for Amy! :) Not everyone they assign to trim birds nails in pet stores are well trained. My Quincy would do a number on them. Lol! Glad it went fairly well. Glad she enjoyed a special treat after that. ;)

Sounds like Amy still has her heart set on a BeeBee (or three!)

So, from the Human's stand point; Amy was toweled for her protection and the Human got bit - No Good Deed Goes Unpunished!

So, from the Amazon's (Amy's) stand point; He got what he deserves for toweling me!

Wish you all a great visit!

The girl who does the trimming has been doing it for about nine years, she has done Amys nails and arms before, and I feel confident with her. The 'assistant" on the other hand...wellll...like I mentioned...her hesitating, and Amy not grooving on the procedure anywho...let me know about it

I prefer her doc doing the trimming. She uses one of those dremel tools, with the sandpaper type disk to it. She can get real close to the quick, and it leaves the tips real blunt, and lasts quite awhile.

Tom, if Willow is anything like The Cockatoo Man was...she'll be fine :)
Jonesy would sit in the carrier..yellin' out his favorite saying...which I can't type here...censor censor censor

My vet uses a dremel, too! It trims my Mac's nails great and I love it!

Did the munchkin make Amy happy and resolve all complaints for him? Poor baby!

LOL, worst Willow will say is "Shut the (4 letter word....use your imagination) up Spot!" since she hears that one from everybody all day. :52:

99% of the time when she's scared or nervious, her go-to phrase is "Pretty Bird!" as is we forgot somehow. Naturally I hear it about 1000x before and during a shower.... which of course just makes me laugh since she looks more like a drowned rat! :D

Aren't those bee bee's cute? My Maxie won me over in 30 seconds, we still miss him so much. Geri and I were just talking about him last nite.
