What do you guys use for your 'too to take them out and about? I heard using dog carriers. What do you recommend? And just for fun here is a pic :D

Sparkly Galah there.

I guess we aren't too particular. The larger cage is a cheap one from Petco or somewhere, to which I've added a white wood lattice. It rides most of the time in the left middle seat of the minivan, always ready for an outing with the kids. The smaller one is heavier metal, and collapsible, but we never collapse it.

We started the 2200 mile trip last month with them in separate cages for overnight, and soon quit that. They're happier sleeping together, just like at home.

I use a plastic small dog crate with a stick. I use it everyday to take my galah to her aviary so its good.

We have 4 dog crates in various sizes, but also a hand-made metal (1" squares) that will hold either amazon, the grey or the cockatoo. It offers a better airflow & can be covered or left open, depending on the bird's comfort zone. It cost like $60 & I use it the most.
