Travel Cage

Does anyone have the travel cage that I linked and if so how good is it for a grey to travel in the car with?

I will be interested in the responses you get from people who have used that travel cage - I like it, too.

But I have been told by parrot owners who've used the plexi-glass cages that the birds can get hot.

Would like to listen to comments from more people who have used them.

I have a pack -o-bird... I LOVE it...


It straps in easily to the car. easy to carry on shoulder or as a back pack... Neytiri loves it as she can see out all sides... there is a water bottle and bowl. They offer many sizes/configurations for your type of bird. And what's best for me is that it's made in the USA.

I had heard that the plexiglass ones can get hot for the bird and a few of the cons on the reviews for the first ones were not really getting me excited. The backpack one looks nice but seems a bit big and is a little more expensive than I was looking for. How about this carrier



It has bowls and more room than the first one without being really huge. We are taking Picasso on vacation with us to my family's house and need a place he can sit while we are driving. I will probably have him out of the carrier for a lot of the time also. Let me know what you think.

I might get the backpack at a later date when I plan to do a lot more traveling around with Picasso, but for now I am looking for a carrier for a car ride that won't take up all the rest of the room in the front seat when it is on my lap..lol.

Greybeard has logged over 8K miles on top of this cage. The wood grillwork is from a rabbit hutch.

On this trip, his cage was on top of cargo, not the seat. This cage is a cheapie from Petco, and it doubles as their night cage in motels.

That is a nice one but a little too big for what I need. There will four people in the vehicle and a cage that big would make me have to put one of my kids in the bed of the truck. Although that is not such a bad idea! (just kidding) lol

how about using a cat carrier with a hole drilled for a perch?? that would be small enough to carry on your lap....

I have one of those but I was looking for one that is more see through to alleviate stress for Picasso. I hear they like to be able to see around them.
