African grey Charlie (6)
Good evening all!

Charlie doesnt bother with any of his toys, i wouldnt either if i was him, they are all old and boring. Which toys do your birds enjoy playing with? I need something thats going to get him into playing again and that going to keep him interested whilst im at work.

Also, ive noticed a few small white feathers at the bottom of and around his cage. About 10 in all, is that amount normal to lose in a short space of time? Im trying not to be paranoid:)

Don't be paranoid.
Losing small white under down feathers are normal. In a molt they will lose lots and their regular feathers too. Even when not molting they will lose a few feathers.

Toys well, finding things they like is an experiment. Greys are highly intelligent so foraging toys are a good idea usually. I would start with a few things and see what he appreciates and go from there.

Haha okay ill try my best. Nomatter how much I have read about them, there is nothng better than seeing it in real life, so its going to take a while for me to understand his behaviour and get used to his routines etc.

its just because Ok i ve heard good things about this shop, they have some really beautiful looking java trees there. Do any of you guys have java trees?

I don't yet, would like to have one. I do have some java table top stands and a T stand on wheels that Bosley loves. He has full access to my.main room and climbs and plays on all my furniture LOL, but his favorite place is on me.

My grey loves to shred, paper towels and the rolls, newspaper, phone books, wood. and he likes rope toys with knots to untie

Yup my grey loves shreddable toys and she really like brightly color wood but if the pieces are too big she won't touch them. I've tried all kinds of stuff but she isn't much if a chewer. My Mac and Conure will tear most anything up.

Three days in, and hes gone through two paperback books, three newspapers and a catologue! As long as he has something to chew and shred, hes happy)

I bought a java tree branch today and ive screwed it onto the top of the cage so hes got a nice high perch, when he gets around to using it ill upload a photo.
