Today I realized that if we didn't have cats, got our basement squared away, and bird proofed more of the house, we could have birds in 5 different rooms of our house.

But, the cats were here first (they predate me) so they're here to stay unfortunately for me. Someday I'll have a house full of birds again (and by that I mean like, just another one or two :p) maybe even take in an unwanted needy bird (a loud too or amazon perhaps).

A girl can dream right?!:44:

Ah, yes you can dream! But your loyalty to the cats is admirable. Someday in the future your MBS will kick in again and the house will be full of birds!

Aaaah Cats! Never been much into cats, but it never fails, visit a house with cats and guess where they end up! Oh, that's different, s/he never goes to anyone, yup guess who?

The future will be here before you know it! So, what is the age of the cats?

I too am not a cat person- and guess who gets to actually do all of the work involved in having them... I'm not bitter I swear. Lol

Well, thankfully cats have a shorter lifespan than parrots. Not that I wish anyone dead, but, just sayin'.

'Boats, same thing happens to me. Not only highly allergic, but 100% not a cat person.
But if there's a pile of coats on a bed, they will make their home in mine.

On topic - I dont know how anyone could keep cats and birds, one of them is gonna loose eventually. Guess which one.

Very carefully. Birds are not out unless the door to their room is closed (they go back in even if I just have to leave to pee) and the door is always shut when I leave the room. They have no contact. I'm sorry that you feel that way, but I promise I do everything I can to keep my babies safe. It makes my life difficult but it's worth it to have Fids in my life. I realize there is a risk but I guess I'm too selfish to live without my birds, because I'm a horrible human.

Cats are 10 years old and there's only two of them. One is 30 pounds and thuds around so I always know where he is. The other one is terrified of everything and has never even gone near the door to the bird room. I do what I can. No it's not perfect, but it is what it is. You can judge me all you want.
