Toby's Aggression

I will chime in on this, because Roy was suppose to be my bird, my husband doesn't even like birds. But Roy loves my husband and I have had to work hard to get him not to attack me all the time! He is smart enough to realize I am the caretaker and treat giver! :) We still have our run ins when hubby is around, but not like at first, just learning his body language is worth a bunch!

Its nice to know the bird likes your hubby but to say smart enough to know is an understatement even tho parrots have the mentality of a 3 to 5 year old they could out smart us any day of the week these birds are the kings when it comes to thinking even the small ones can make us look an idiot never under rate a parrot or it will come back to bite you on the butt big time.

I have the same problem with Codie! She will only tolerate me! I have been away this Week and left her here with my OH ... I have to say, that in a Week he has made quite good progress with her.. She has allowed him to put food in her Cage without biting him and she has been chatting away to him, although she will not allow him to pick her up! He has let her do her own thing.. ie, opening the Cage Door and letting her choose where she wants to be!

Now I am back she has gone back to not wanting to know him :(

I guess with my zons we were lucky ,because i fished for a living and was gone so much. My wife has worked hard to make friends and they accept her now.If I was gone and they wanted attention, she was the only available source ,LOL.

Warfrat,
Ya, I will have to leave her in the cage when strangers are around. Amazons are territorial and she bit me because she could not reach my wifes friend. Still got a bruise and feel lucky to be wearing a short sleeve shirt verses a tank top. If wore the tank top, I am afraid, I would have had a beak sinky into my arm like a knife to butter... :D
