Timneh african grey is afraid of me :(

My TAG is afraid of me,he is 7 yrs old, but lives with me 2 months,he doesnt come out of the cage,and sometimes he tries to bit me,do any of you know how to earn his love?

Hello. Where did you got him? How was he at previous home? I think that with a little patients from you eventually he will get used to you and everything will be fine.

Sometimes, it can take a while for a parrot to adjust to a new home and new people. Parrots who have had previous homes may take extra time to feel comfortable. Be patient with your TAG and give him all the time he needs to settle in and feel confident. A good approach is to simply sit near your parrot's cage and talk softly to him. Tell him how handsome he is, how much you love him and how happy you are to be part of his flock (parrots really do understand when we tell them those things). You might also read to him, or even sing to him. If he has some favorite treats, you can try offering him some. Things like that are a good way to help a new parrot feel at home and get used to you.
