Well I got to see my baby yesterday (yay!) but unfortunately for me, the breeder is having a big family gathering and won't be available on the 2nd or 9th, so no more baby until the 16th. This will be a long three weeks!

But now, for pictures!

Handsome hubby finally got his chance to meet baby.

Baby is still very sleepy (and loves to fall asleep having his head / beak / cheeks stroked).

S/he was awake a lot more today, though, than in the previous two visits. And very curious / looking around a lot.

And then I got this cute video of baby starting to investigate his first toy.

It will be interesting to see how he looks after three weeks of not seeing him.

Your husband and baby are so sweet together.

Hehe, thanks. He cracks me up. I'm banned from posting the pictures of him and baby on facebook because he "doesn't want anyone to think he is a baby person". Yet, last weekend when he couldn't go with me he squealed... SQUEALED! "I can't wait to get my hands on that baby!!"

I'm not sure who he thinks is going to care if he likes baby animals :p

Not a baby person, my butt.

So cute, I know how long three weeks can take. I bought and African grey agg and named him Eggo, he was not even born yet. Congrats, I know you will love him.

I remember waiting for Sweepea to finish hand feeding. I had her cage set up like TWO MONTHS in advance... NOW WHAT?!

TICK... TICK... TICK... IS SHE WEANED YET?! NO? DAMN!

TICK... TICK... TICK... IS SHE WEANED YET?! NO? DOH!

TICK... TICK... TICK...

It's only three weeks, but it'll seem like more than a month.

Waiting is not something I was ever very good at... but it looks like this little guy is worth waiting for.

I'm terrible at waiting :D I might take a while to make up my mind about something, but once my mind is made up I like to take care of things IMMEDIATELY.

But yes, this little guy is totally worth waiting for! On the plus side it is my birthday this weekend and my mom and sisters want to go away for a girls' weekend. That should help for at least a little bit of my waiting!

I know what you mean about the cage. I'm overrun with boxes full of toys. I can't wait until I get the cage so I can get it set up.

Daughter and I made and bagged up Wendy's food mix that I found while looking up diet stuff XD Figured we'd see how the rest of the birds like it before the big guy comes home.

I am virtually certain all of mine would volunteer to sample that!

(One bottomless pit of an amazon in particular!)

I'm virtually certain my eclectus is going to chuck half of it at my wall :D

:D I believe you... in fact, I can just picture that one. :D

Before, during, or after the time he gets it all over his beak?!

At least you have little Cinderella to help you clean. Mine just looks at me cross-eyed and says "They're your birds!"

I'm going to have to turn Cinderella into Peter Pan so she never grows up, moves out, and leaves me to clean all by myself!

Oh, and -- it will be both before and after he coats his beak. First he will take everything he doesn't think he wants and chuck it angrily out of the cage. Then he will coat his beak with the rest and shake it onto the wall.

He's funny. If there is something he -really- wants in the bowl (like pomegranate seeds) then everything else becomes garbage.. even something like his second favourite food (watermelon). Watermelon? EW! THROW IT OUT!

Until the pomegranate seeds are gone.. then he will stand there with his head tilted sideways staring at the watermelon he chucked to the floor.

Well that's just typical...

I had a conure that was like that. Empty out the food bowl for one little seed at the very bottom, then squawk at me because he was still hungry... Kinda drove me nuts!
