My Hahn's Macaw Bella <3
So I got the chance to play, hold & cuddle with a Hyacinth macaw yesterday for over an hour. He was the sweetest little boy ever <3 He jumped off of his perch and onto my arm and put his head under my chin and was rubbing his head on my chin to get some scratches and then he lifted his wings so I could scratch under his wings. He was a total sweetheart. He was very playful too. I absolutely looooved him! My boyfriend loved him too and he was such a lovebug!!! Unfortunately now the boyfriend & I both have "blue fever".. We want a Hyacinth (in the future) soo bad!!!!! Unfortunately I didn't have the $11,000 USD to pay for him or else he would have come home with me :D!!!!!!

Lucky you!!!! I've seen them in person but never got the chance to hold one...I wanna hold one or OWN one.... :)

They're amazing. My boyfriend and I fell in love with it!!! We are hoping to get one in about 3-4 years :):blue: They are so much more cuddly than I ever thought they would be.

im sure it was a day youll never forget we've never heard of a breeder in the uk but they can cost up to £18000 over here!!! that'd buy hundreds of brothers & sisters for vincent and archie lol

Good luck! I hope it all works out.

Our breeder has one she got from a client who had to give up her birds for health reasons. Jojo is extremely gentle and a little timid, I was really surprised. As amazing as they are, I don't know that I'd ever get one...they are so big.

He still has a ton of growing to do!!! He is the most cuddly baby ever & I wish I could take him home <3
I've gone three days in a row to go see him. Every person in the store is amazed by how well I can handle him. A lot of customers think I actually work there! I'm hoping to have a job there when they have an opening :)

Hi, See if you can negotiate the price down to around 8 thousand. I think that 11 thousand is too much. Maybe try a baby Greenwing or Harlequin macaw instead because they run a little under 2 thousand and can be just as cuddly. My new Harlequin female is 8 months old and very sweet and cuddly. She likes to be kissed on her face and snuggle up to my face or put her head on my or my husbands shoulder. Likes her head rubbed and under the wings also. She is just as cuddly as my umbrella cockatoo. Lesley

Birdiemomma, I just saw the pic, he's gorgeous!!!!!

Great Pic Birdiemomma, Hy are a total sweetheart just like the Green wing, they are very close in personality. Hy normally run between 8-10 grand. My Breeder breeds them. Once i move to my summer home for good, i too will own one. I have a Green Wing and SI eclectus for the moment. I know a few Hy out there and they are really lovebugs. Just think, you spend 15-20 grand on a car, truck that if your lucky will last 5 years, you spend 8-10 grand and you get 50-75 years, what's the better buy. just think of it that way and you so can afford a HY. lol. Now you just have to get your other half to agree and your home free with you baby HY. Best of luck, keep reaching for the stars, you never know. Joe
