I've made a few references lately to how very sick I've been and how hard that has made it to keep up with certain things, especially time to just spend with my birds. Well I would now like to share the reason for my illness with you; my internet flock.

I'm expecting my first human child in October! Due to some really strange twists and turns, I actually ended up finding out at only 3 weeks (for those of you who don't know pregnancy math, that means I had actually only been pregnant for a week) in the ER, and having doctors tell me in one breath that I was pregnant, and in the next that Something was "definitely wrong." They proceeded to tell me I probably was losing my baby or already had, and that I might have cancer. As it turns out, what I actually had was just a normal, healthy pregnancy caught extremely early. Thanks ER doctor's for weeks of terror.

Anyway, "morning sickness" for me has been more like "all the time sickness" but I'm feeling a lot better now as my first trimester wraps up.

So there you have it! And I've been really looking forward to sharing with you since you guys can at least be trusted not to say "oh, then what will you do with your pets?"

Thank you; it will certainly be an adventure, especially because the army is most likely planning a move across the pacific for us right about the time time baby is due 0_0

Oh, boy. The army is good for that. Hopefully they'll either move you before 32 weeks or so, or delay until after baby is about 4 months. That seems to be the magic age when you're getting enough sleep to truly recover and things start falling into more of a routine and get a whole lot easier.

If only they cared lol. We are really hoping the promotion list comes out in may or June. If it does, I should be able to leave a couple of weeks after that (after I get everything handled to send the pets) and go buy a house and at the very least get a bed, laundry machines, and kitchen supplies in the house before baby arrives.

I have a good friend who's a family advocate for the army. She knows the ins and outs of how to Get Stuff Done when it comes to family needs when one spouse is active duty. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to reach out and I can put you in touch with her.

Thank you :) in this case it really just depends on when that list comes out because...

We can't move until he gets orders.

He can't get orders until he is accepted into a class

He can't apply to a class until the list comes out.

Yeah. The timing does sound like it's going to be tricky. But I've seen them come up with interesting solutions to timing issues regarding pregnancy and childbirth. So hopefully it'll just all work out perfectly and everything goes smoothly!

We will work it out one way or another lol. Worst case scenario we will be stuck here until may or June 2018.

Congratulations. :jumping40

Just a few words.

When my mother was early pregnant with me the Dr. thought she had something wrong. wanted to do a D & C (and that would have been the end of me).
But she insisted she was pregnant and refused to let the Dr.'s "do there thing".

When My wife and I decided we were "ready" to have a child we did so.
We did not have the first idea what we were in for.
We both had to sacrifice things we liked doing. Giving up our birds was never in our thought's. We just had to adapt and make sure little fingers were safe from big beaks (we had no Cockatiels then).
Again.
Wishing you all the best.
:)

Thanks! I have actually been told I don't deserve to be a mom if I'm not willing to rehome my cat. Because you know, there is no POSSIBLE way your baby can survive living with a cat. Closed doors, constant vigilance, behavior modification training, and video baby monitors aren't enough.

First, CONGRATS!!! Second, people make up crap, kitty should be not allowed in baby room when baby is sleeping. Bottom line you'll figure everything out. And ignore the docs, it sounds like you went in, you are not the typical patient they deal with, from now on stick with your OBGYN!

Congratulations, Dani! Sweet news, I wish you the absolute best with your pregnancy and I hope things work out with the army and the move.

First, I want to Thank the both of you for your family's Service to our Country! Military families are the true backbone of our Military and the strength of those families assure the strength and safety of our Nation! Thank-You!

And! Congratulations on the newest member of the flock! You're going to be one great Mother. You have been like practicing for years, right. :D

One of the truly great parts of listening to people go into idiot mode is that you get to clearly see them at the great depth that they don't have! Simply Smile, and move along - making a mental note to take them off your lists and add them to that very special list of "Avoid this Idiot List."

As you already know, plan for the Worst and let life happen, since you will be ready for it!

Again, Congratulations!

PS and FYI: After weaning don't move on to Pellets! :D

Congratulations Dani! I am so happy for you and your husband, and hope that the timing works out perfectly for your big move.

Congrats! You must be so excited!
