Timneh does not like Levi's taste in treats though. She doesn't like almonds or pistachios. Cashews are her favorite and when I run out of those she will excepts pine nuts.

Well, Thank You very much Jim. I think he’s smart, but I am biased of course.
It’s nice to hear from others who are more experienced parronts, as you know Levi is my first parrot, so I don’t have a gauge on his intelligence.

Levi likes cashews as well. I get him the raw organic ones, but his all time faves are pistachios. I buy him the organic no salt ones of course.
He also likes almonds in the shell, but its tough on his beak. He can open them fairly well, but his beak takes a toll. Next time I find almonds still in the shell, I’m going to slightly open them to see if that’ll help ease the stress on his beak.
I actually believe he likes the pistachios, b/c of the cracking the shell component. Almonds were the only nut my Vet suggested. She said, if you are going to give him nuts, give him almonds. So, I’m glad he likes them.
I have never offered him pine nuts, I’ll try them thx.
