The Levi Diaries

Hi,

I haven’t posted in awhile.
My husband taught Levi a new sound effect w/out my knowledge.
He did it the other day & it cracked me up.
He does it here, but he can do it a lot better.

Levi in all of his cuteness & his new explosion sound effect. ;)

Levi is such a good and funny boy! I love that knotted rope hanging down for his convenience:)
So glad to see you posting videos of Levi, I missed y'all!

Awww .... thank you so much my friend.
That is actually a dog rope I have one on both of his large cages. However, he uses this one more than at home. I have no idea why ...

Levi learned a new greeting.

How awesome!!! I say Good morning to my flock several times each morning, but do you think even one could say it back? I'm going to play this video for them, maybe give them a hint:)

Haha that’s funny & so typical. :D
Good luck w/ that & let me know if it works. :smile049:

LOVING these videos, Tami! Levi is a trip! Quite the talented talker and noise effect maker, isn't he?

That first photo is beautiful. What a happy and healthy looking bird!

Thank you so much, the 1st photo was the day we brought him home. :) It’ll be two years next month. Hard to believe, it’s already been two years.

Thank you Anansi,
Yes he is. :D He is quite the entertainer.

Levi finally accepting his rope. We put up this rope at least 6 months ago if not longer. Apparently Levi has an innate fear of snakes, b/c any long rope, wire, string etc he is afraid of. However, I didn't realize that when I bought him this rope.

So, I am please to say he is finally enjoying the large rope I bought him ...
YAY Levi :D

I love that rope! Where did you get it?

Thanks Terry, I got it at the bird store where I bought Levi. He had 3 sizes. I bought the middle range and John (hubby) hung it on the beams for him. Levi was so afraid of it he wouldn’t even go on his normal play area right there. I figured eventually he’d get beyond his fear & realize it wasn’t anything scary & he did. So happy!! It’s draped under a sky light so he could get sun & watch the birds.

I bought one on amazon a while back but it was treated w/ some stinky chemicals. :( I was thrilled that I found it in a bird store. I knew it was safe.

THAT'S the medium size?!? Large must be for pterodactyls! Lol! So glad that he finally came around. Insofar as bird phobias go, this one is actually pretty reasonable. "Nuh-uh. That thing looks like a big brown snake! Why don't you go perch on it? I'm fine all the way over here, thank you."

Beats Jolly's hysterical fear of my niece's lavender painted fingernails.

Haha, I meant length not diameter. There were skinnier ones for the smaller birds. But, the 2” rope came in 3 lengths. I think it was 6, 8 & 10’. I bought the 8’.

Oh yea, he hated it. However, I totally agree that it is a reasonable fear. :smile049:
But lavender nails .... hmmm :33:

Sorry but lavender nails scare me also:D

Yes Gracie shows what I consider to be irrational fears at times. But I just keep telling myself that the fear is not irrational to her. We work to get past it.
Anakin has a very bad fear of anything he perceives as a stick. I found out that this is a reasonable fear as he was "disciplined" with a stick by former owners. We are making good progress getting past that.

Awww, that's awful poor thing. :( Was he beat w/ the stick? Disgusting!!

I learned last winter that Levi is deathly afraid of white & red striped patterns. It was tissue paper for wrapping. I had been cleaning up and he went full on freak w/ a screech I have never heard before. He couldn't get out of the room quick enough. It actually startled me. I was very confused by it. So, I asked the group for answers.

here is the thread, if your interested -
