Since my baby boy turned 21 at the end of July, some of you asked about Robin's baby pictures to compare :).

Here are some pics I took before his first molt and slight color change...
The first few pics here are the cutest ones, but I think the very first pics taken of him are the ones of him on the white cage.

The story was, he was owned for about a week by a family with kids. They gave him a stupid name, then decided he wasn't the right pet for the kids, so he was returned to the store. Meanwhile, I was telling the bird store owner my criteria and my budget, and she said "I have the PERFECT bird for you!" What a sales line huh?! But how right she was! She told me to come back in a few days and she'll have him in the store.

There he was... Cute, but I had expected brighter colors! (Superficial I know ). I didn't realize he was in juvenile plumage. I said 'okay he's fine, I'll take him' lol. After he was home, he stole my heart and became super tame and cuddly right away. He honestly became my all around "best" bird of all time (outside of hormone season lol). He is truly a soulmate.

This first pic is my FAVORITE baby pic of Robin. Look how cute his face is!

Here he is as a young man in adult colors

This is Robin today at 21. Ever since he got that "shoe lace" toy he's been obsessed with it. Sitting on the boing outside his cage that Shirre (getwozzy) made for him :)

I remember he was $650 "cage and all"... I got him a new cage soon after since even as a newbie I knew an 18x18 was a bit small! The white cage in the pic. I think the family who had him for a week bought that cage with him and the store owner just wanted to get rid of it instead of selling it used lol.

Awww, Baby Robin! And a very handsome young man, then and now. The color progression is dramatic. Super sweet photos, Julie.

Love all the photos, Julie! What a handsome boy!

P.S. Baxter has the same shoelace toy and loves it

Thanks Allee. I remember hoping he'd keep the orange head lol.

Thank you Shawna. It's nice when you get a toy and hope they like it, then you discover how much they LOVE it!

Julie, what fabulous pictures of beautiful Robin!!! What a precious baby he was:) Were all those pretty purple presents for him?

Holy smokes, Julie! Robin is one VERY special and one VERY lucky birdy to have been with you for such a long time. :D

That first baby picture of him on his back is cuteness overload!! :smile015:

Loving these baby pics, Julie! What dramatic color changes through the years! Great to see the progression.

And how amazing to have a bird so closely bonded to you for so long. You've obviously taken exceptional care of him.

That first family doesn't know what they've missed out on, but their loss was your gain. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for the sweet complements everyone :)!

Terry, those were the human presents lol :D. What was strange was the date on the back of the pic said April, yet it must have been December because of the holiday presents... Maybe I lost the film for 4 months I don't know LOL!

Maybe you got it developed in April? Or had a late Christmas? lol

Thank you MyFlock, fellow Red Bellied parront :).

That picture with him playing with what I think are elastics gets me every time! He's just like, "oh... uh... nothing to see here mom..." [emoji16]

Thanks for sharing those! I was so looking forward to them!

What a lucky boy to have such a good mum. I hope you have many fun years ahead. :D

Thank you William, I sure am hoping so! My vets say Pois usually don't have quite as long of a lifespan as others of their size, but Robin doesn't have any "old age" physical signs or handicaps yet, so that leads me to believe he CAN live a lot longer!
