Hello. I know this forum is about parrots, but I found an injured robin. He kept crashing into houses (luckily didn’t suffer any visible damage from that) and can’t fly properly. We put him in a cardboard box with some seeds that are given to my budgie and caique as a treat and called the closest rehabber. They said that due to bird flu, they were only taking herons and cranes right now, and were gonna close soon anyway. I called another one in my area, but they said they’re only licensed to care for foxes, wolves, coyotes, and similar creatures. I decided to get him a bigger cage and keep him in the cage in the garage (it’s heated so he won’t get too cold) with some seeds, peanuts, blackberries, diced strawberries, and a bowl of water, which he loves bathing in. Upon inspection, I immediately noticed a lot of his tail feathers were gone, and his flight feathers appeared to be clipped. He also stepped up onto me and my mom’s hands without hesitation when given the option. In my state, it’s illegal to keep robins unless you’re helping them. Could someone of possibly kept this lil guy illegally? My mom named him Alfred by the way
