Tex's Fiancee

So, this has been really bothing me, this little guy that we saw today looks an aweful lot like a SUNNY, but what really got me thinking was that his wings are completely green, not yellow with splotchy green like Ham's, but completely green like a JENDAY ... I think we might be looking at a SUNDAY conure here folks ... more to follow as more info becomes availible ... hopefully you will all be able to help me make this decision if/when I can post some pictures ... keep your collective fingers/wings/feathers crossed for us.

so are you gonna adopt the little guy? pleaseeeee :):):) one petco close tous always has a sun, jenday, sunday, and gcc although Sidney doesn;t look like any of the jendays I'vve seen in stores? he is a lot more blue green and red with just a little orange hopefull it will become more prominate as he gets older. so again you know i love new birdys on the forum and especially conures.

For anyone that doesn't know the difference, I found a few pics of a Sun conure, Jenday conure, and a Sunday conure

The first is a Sunday, the second is a Jenday, and the third is a Sunnie

Looking at those photos Nicole posted and from Tex's research it seems like the bird we are looking really might be a Sunday...very green wings and orange body. I'm really nervous that we might not get him because the person at the store said that there was a lot of interest and our aparment manager might not get back to us in time. Its kind of funny because I was on the fence about it, but now that we might not be able to get him, I am really wanting to!

I really want you to get him too if that helps :) petcos usually have a 2 week period where you could return him.... Sorry cooking up a conspiracy!

Cant you like reserve the bird? or put it on hold? and if the apartment manager says no you could just put it off hold or if youbhave to put money donw you could just return it. or something.

OH and i think the conure in the book(birds for dummies) is a sunday conure lol i know this is well not much to do with it but i took a pic of the pic in the book to show.

Awww he sounds wonderful, you've gotta get him. Give us your apartement managers address and we'll all bombard him/her. :D Christy what you do is stand in the pet store and tell everyone how loud they are, and they bite all the time, that should put everyone else off. :D I do hope your apartment manager gets back to you soon.

You could always go get him and sneak him in, if you got one whats the harm of a second one!!! I say go get him, but I'm also a bad influence :p

when we lived in an apartment the lady upstairs was too busy listening to her blaring music and getting drunk she never heard ANYTHING LOL Me thinks Tex might be rethinking begging us to welcome you LOL we are on your side 100%

That a good idea! unless of course an experianced bird person come along. aha then your screwed. But i would say 80 percent of the people that walk into a petstore are not experiaced with animals as much as they should be.

So, we haven't heard back from the apartment manager. Shes actually a bird person too. She owns an eclectus and knew all about sun conures when we first got Hamlet. So she knows what could happen with the noise...that could help or hurt. And we got really lucky with noise issues. None of our neighbors hear Hamlet AT ALL...apparently. We have asked them mulitple times and they claim they can't hear a thing. Which is great and its why we think we can get another one. I guess if it is meant to be it will happen. We will keep you all updated!!

So, we haven't heard anything from the apartment manager. We still are waiting to see what will happen. Yesterday I called the pet store and they said that he was still there, so thats good. Hopefully she will call tomorrow and tell us something. Normally I would say that two birds would be too much but I just feel like this bird we saw had something special. we'll see if we get to bring him home or not. another update will come tomorrow :)

Thanks keep the updates coming. We are keeping fingers crossed that your landlord gets back to you and that he is still there.

yess updates are good.:smile049:

That kinda sux that your landlord STILL hasnt gotten back to you. but atleast the bird is still there. Now if only the bird will stay there until you get the 'A'-Okay from the landlord.

I hope your landlord says yes! Fingers Crossed for ya!:smile046:
