Texas - Hatch Peppers

Hi there, for those in and around Texas, have you fed your fids hatch peppers? I started seeing them a few years ago at HEB, and now I'm seeing them at Kroger, and Walmart. I was thinking about giving them a go with Buddy and Venus but wondered if they are bird safe.

(Have you tried HEB's hatch pepper salmon burgers?! OMG! Too die for! For people we put a little dab of alvocado on top. Birdie's just get the salmon patty.)

I'll try them for sure, as will my food thieves, lol! I saw the salmon patties earlier today. HEB is roasting hatch peppers and shrimp at their front door today and I think through the weekend around Houston.

Oh man, we made hatch pepper salmon burgers the other night with homemade pico and guacamole on top...

Made an extra one for the birdies... minus the guac obviously!

It's really fun to watch Sally eat salmon cuz she just puts her beak straight up in the air and swallows the stuff... doesn't even bother to chew.

Ask them in the meat/seafood department if they will make them. Mine makes the cowboy burgers but not the the turkey/cranberry/Gorgonzola burgers but if you ask they will order the kits and make them. The turkey is my favorite. Can you tell I whined about no turkey patties, lol? Mine always has salmon patties made so I'm going to look for the salmon hatch pepper patties.
