After many months of this, I'm sooo tired of picking up my parrot's foot toys from the ground when they chuck them aside (after playing with them for all of 20 seconds of course). Has anyone ever tried tethering them to the cage? I'm curious how well this would work. I figure it would keep them out of the poop tray as well.

We have tied the little mini sneakers to the girls cage in several places. They LOVE them. They hang from them, swing from them and chew them to pieces. They don't seem to bother with the shoe lace that it's tied up with at all. I guess that could be a concern if they decided that they wanted to chew up the lace instead of the shoe since it could cause the lace to break causing the baby to fall. But in our case they just play with the shoe. Of course we still have tons of other foot toys that are in a stainless steel bucket that empty out several times a day and throw the toys EVERYWHERE!!! :31:. I am constantly cleaning up after them but that's what they do. :p

Half our parrots' enjoyment comes from watching us pick up their mess :)

This is soo true!! I played Uh-oh with my girls for quite some time this morning. They even say uh-oh when they throw the toy!! I love it, it's too cute to see them get excited about playing games with them.:p

I notice that our parrots will play with their foot toys in the middle of their playtops, but if I am near by they move to the edge of their playtops and drop their toys off the edge repeatedly knowing I'll pick them up. I don't mind. I knew they had me trained long ago.

my grey that pasted away loved wooden spoons as a foot toy, i did end up tying them to her food dishes on the playgym because she dropped them very quickly and knew id pick them up. I still offered toys without string attached though because it was fun:).

i have a few birdie bagels attached to the side with quick links. cooper doesnt like those as much as some other foot toys but they arent always on the ground XD
