they are rather scary if you didnt know it was beet! she makes such a mess when eating foods like this lol


the beet root is completely raw. my husband has been getting some for his juicer so i gave some to the birds for the first time. of course only one who liked it was munch. munch i think only likes the messiest of foods... blackberries are her WORST messy food... the reason we must keep blankets behind their cage on the wall... she splatters it all over the walls and wipes it all over perches and cage bars....

I love Munchlax!!! She is the cutest, feistiest little Lovebird ever minted!

Y'know, the day I decided I wanted Alexandrines, we were visiting our local bird dealer. He was unpacking his van when we arrived, so we toddled off to the aviaries to have a look at his current stock. ALL of his birds had bloodied beaks and faces, just like Munchlax! I flew out to the van and said 'OMG, your birds are all bleeding!!!' He laughed so hard, he hit his head on the hatchback of the van. He'd given them beetroot to eat that morning and they were still covered in it.

PS. I liked the pic of Munch pretending to be Fargo. See? Feisty!
