I've not been around any Macaw's actually just the pictures I see on here and the research I have done.
There is a stripe that runs from top of his belly all the way down. I really did not think it was missing feathers until someone called it to my attention yesterday. So doing some research today I ran across this link. You have to love it when a search brings you here
I was told 3 month ago when I got him from the vet that he was going thru a heavy molt. He still has some of what I call fluffy feathers Gray around his neck Under wings on the back . The only feathers I have seen him loose are a couple tail feathers. Around his neck is filling in slow with BRIGHT yellow feathers but he still has that ring of gray . Is this any indication of his age ?
Oh I can't see skin just a inward ridge Looks like the one of fargo just longer
