He is really little. :p

I will try soaking the larger pellets but I didn't have time this morning.
He has his choice of four different foods and he at least tried the pellets so he dug further and found something easier. But I put the pellets at the top.

He eats a lot. His food bowl only had enough to cover the bottom of the bowl this morning. I have never had a bird eat that much. The other bowl though was about half full...the one with the fruity pellets. I really don't care if he doesn't eat those. :)

He won't eat the fruit that I put in his cage though. I'm going to have to work with him more on toys and fruit but I wanted to give him a few days to settle in.

Happy to hear the vet visit went well.

And the first thing I would do is call Animal control and the local SPCA to get those birds removed. This is nothing more than unreported animal abuse! Please do the right thing. You rescued one,now let the authorities rescue the rest!

I was going to talk to some police officers in my building today and see what I can do and if they know who to talk to in that county.

Yep - they so need to be rescued.

Poor thing, probably the first(maybe only) time in his life he has had really good, nutricious food available.

Good for you.Something needs to be done, and it's up to us to do it.I am new here, but have turned in two people in Fla.(where I live) and had 20-30 birds rescued as a result.

Name-wise, what occurs to me is "Bandera" - as in Spanish for "flag". With all those bright, beautiful, primary colors, he reminds me of flags flying in the bright sun...

Wow I'm so glad you got the newbie. Spec is a good name. Thanks for getting him into a good environment. When will Whisper get to meet him/her?

Whisper will get to meet him around December 15th or 16th...maybe a day or two sooner. I will ask the vet when I see him on Monday.

He's adorable (and he'll look even more gorgeous when his feathers grow in properly)! Thank god you got him out of there... I'm sure he'll be a lot happier with you. Good luck~

He is looking a lot better already...or at least I think he is. I THINK I'm see more green feathers on his chest than grey and white.
