I will do the Vaseline. Hopefully it doesn't end up all over my cat. And I have to make sure Pete doesn't get into it. I have to watch him for climbing down his cage.
But, it ate the entire box of Decon. So it should be dead or dying I would have to think! I cleaned the cages just a bit ago and swept under them and did not find any droppings though, strangely.
It was the opening and closing of the cupboard that scared the crap out of me I did check in a few of them, but to be honest, I was kind of scared doing that.
I hope you catch this little bugger ! They run you life until you do, I hate them.
Just be careful with the decon because if your cat does play with or mouth the rat when its dead , she can get really sick if not worse. Good luck catching your house invader.
I know, I try not to use Decon in the house, but felt like I didn't have a choice last night with no rat traps. I'm hoping it went into a crawlspace to die. But, chances are good if it suddenly appears in the inside of the house today I will find it as soon as the cat does. And she doesn't actually eat them now that she gets all the cat food she wants. She usually plays with them until they are dead. One time she stuck a mouse in a recessed window sill when she got tired of playing with it to save it for later, lol! She was smart enough to know it would be afraid to jump down. I came into the kitchen looking for the dead body since I had seen her run past me with it in her mouth. I finally heard something and looked, and there it was jumping up and down against the window trying to get away. And I said, "Sadie, get that thing!" She jumped up there and grabbed it, and that was the end of that.
Roxy! Your cat is like a rolly polly like mine...lol....the only thing my cats hunt is bugs that made their way in. Mouse or rats have dogs and cats to watch for if they want in. My huskies hunt big time....nothing leaves the yard alive once they get ahold of them.
