Something crawled out of my pigeons feathers??

Oh my goodness I think I may have killed the bird myself and didn't realize it! I had sprayed a little bit of that mite spray on him and the pigeon fly wasn't coming out so I decided to put him in some water and try to drowned the fly....well I didn't even think about that I had put that spray on him and he kept drinking the water while I had him sitting there which now I realize he was drinking the spray and whatever else was on him before his first bath. He was just so thirsty for some reason and ughhhh I wish I would have thought about not letting him drink it! I feel terrible that I'm the one who probably killed him.

winces* I am so sorry, I useto keep pigeons myself and theres a bird safe "Pigeon bath" soap that you put in a gallon of water to "kill" the skin lice and stuff that the free flying birds have. If I were you, Id look up Pigeons, they are the "rats" of the bird world, though I have to say they are one of my favorate birds for the barn yard besides geese though they have no real use, I had a flock of my own at one time and every 3 days Id put out a bath with the pigeon safe soap, then twice a year Id "deworm" them with products I got from a pigeon catalog, wormers, crupe crop and something else, im not sure anymore, but (it seemed like to me) they require more care then normal birds and when you get a new one, its best that you just work on the whole flock at once because no matter what you do, it will pass to them if they are outdoors.
