Parrots
Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
Just wanted to give out some thanks to all the wonderful people here (too many to name!)

I also go on a facebook group about parrots to alleviate my boredom at work and it really gives perspective to how knowledgeable people here are. It's also nice to be able to offer a little tid-bit of advice and help someone feel a bit happier along with their fid!

So once again a whole bunch of thanks to everyone!

As payment please take one dancing Topaz

Love that golden conure! :) I'm also a member of several parrot facebook groups and just love all the great information, not to mention all the pictures people post of their parrots! But this place is my favorite for sure... I also frequent all my parrot sites when I'm at work! lol I learn something new every day.

Topaz is an awesome bird

I like the others for their pictures and some of the stories. But the advice on them is questionable at best. Actually had someone recommended a single wing clip the other day because somebody had lost their bird

Here there's thought and reason behind advice, never do people say get another bird because one is hormonal or say to wing clip every bird because "that's what you do" everyone will look at things from the bird's perspective first which is something people with every animal should do

I'll take a dancing Topaz anyday! So lovable and animated!

Yes indeed, a great group of members here!! Knowledgeable and so willing to share!

As an old newbie, this is the first place I go everyday for more information. There's something to learn in every thread. On facebook, it took a bit of sifting, but I found a group local to me where I met my preferred breeder. I'm glad I took the time to do both of these things. I've learned so much and sincerely hope that means less of a chance of me making a bad mistake when I get my bird. Love this place. :)

What you find on many of the other Facebook forums is newbies giving advice to newbies. It’s like the blind leading the blind - even on an ekkie specific forum, they have no experience with ekkie diets other than feeding pellets, trying to advise others on proper ekkie diet, which they often get wrong. This place is full of people with lots of experience, and in the case of some, experience backed up by academic knowhow. Definitely my kind of crowd.

I'm a member of a few great Facebook groups if anyone wants to PM me I'd be happy to share!

when should I expect my golden topaz? I am getting a cage ready for him.
