Hi all!
I have a 13 week old IRN who's an absolute angel, he makes the best little beep sounds, is super gentle with his beak. He'll step up and give kisses etc.

I suppose I want some reassurance that everything is normal. He's been on solids exclusively for 2 days now but he hasn't really been drinking (that I've noticed) he's also been pooping like a champ, but he's sleeping SO much! He's not great at sleeping in his cage at night, usually sleeps around 9-10 hours a night and naps a LOT during the day. Is this normal? is he going through a bit of a growth spurt? He's active in between naps, great flying etc.

I lost my Quaker earlier this month so am a little over anxious with my new baby!

Baby birds nap a lot. I would offer him some formula once a day by spoon not syringe to make sure he gets liquid until you're sure he's drinking.

Fantastic! Thank you! You’d be surprised at how little info on birds this age there is! I’m getting conflicting info everywhere so very much appreciate it :)

If his behavior begins to decline make sure you take him to an avian vet. I'm not a vet. I've successfully hand raised a baby budgie from hatching and I'm going by my experience that baby birds nap a lot especially after eating. Any signs of problems please see a vet. And please don't use a syringe to feed your baby. Its too dangerous.
