So we went on a mini vacation from Sun-Tues. We went up to Ottawa Canada then over to Montreal on Tuesday. They have some great museums up in Ottawa. We visited the nature museum and went to a live reptile show. It was all hands on and the kids got to pet all kinds of reptiles. Here are some pictures:

We also went to the Biodome in Montreal on Tuesday. They have created different habitats within the "dome". One of those simulated habitats is the rainforest. We went to the Biodome because they have a pair of hyacinth macaws there. Well they are rotated and they were not out yesterday. Won't be until December! But we did see a couple of scarlets and military macaws. Here are the photos:

This poor scarlet lost it's tail feathers. :(

This appears to be a new breed of bird or reptile hatching as we speak. Not sure I recognize the breed, do you? LOL!

I have to say, after the reptile show, I am a little more comfortable around snakes! LOL! :D

Blanca, you have some BEAUTIFUL "hatchlings" there. ;)

AWESOME pictures, all of them!!! Thanks so much for sharing! I'm so glad you had such a great time. :)

I tell ya something...I have some balls, and I love snakes...but I don't think I'd ever touch a Komodo dragon.

Lol! Its some kind of monitor but I don't think its a komoto like I mentioned. I can't remember.

You could handle it Wendy if you can handle those big spiders. Now those make my skin crawl! Lol!

Thank you! We sure did!

Looks like fun! Are you sure that was a Komodo? There is only one person in the US licensed to privately own Komodos, so it probably was a Nile Or Asian water monitor :)

You are right, it is not. I knew I had that wrong, but forgot to change it. LOL! I know it's some type of monitor but can't remember which kind. LOL!
