Cute!
What is the purpose of a sock buddy? Is it to prevent plucking? I'm not familiar with them.

....and he lets you put that on him??....wow.
very cute nonetheless

For those of you who don't know what a sock buddy is, or are curious, here is a link:

And yes they are for pluckers, and look a lot more comfy than a collar.

My female parrotlet, CeeCee got ahold of my finger today and bit me so hard my hair just about stood up - I swear that girl hates me lol. How is it that birds always get the fleshy part of something? :p

yes they also keep him warm , but he isn't completely bald he has tons of down on him , instead of him, plucking his feathers he will pluck and tare up the sock buddy which in Smokeys case he does very well , and yes he actually lets me put it on him but believe me it has takes awhile for him to let me do that , heres some pics I took of him today

I had some nice wax candles and a santa by the tree but Shamrock started chewing on them so I had to move them :( I have a bigger tree but since Shamrocks flys he gets into a lot so I don't trust putting up a bigger tree until maybe next year

I've been very tempted to do sock buddy on Gracie, the worst plucker I have....She's gonna hate me putting that on her.....we'll see....

Oh he's very cute, and the down does look very fluffy lol.

Mikey I woudn't hesitate one second to put my bird in a sock if he was plucking. I didn't know about them until recently, but I do have a male parrotlet that came to me very plucked, he's now fully feathered, but if he did start plucking again, I'd sock him lol

I like his fluffy appearance. I am glad that this sock thing worked.

Great pun! -)

He looks like a baby grey with all that down showing. I think it's kinda cute ;)

What an adorable boy! I think his fluffy look is just beautiful and I hope he gets his proper feathers back in time. I'd like to try a sock buddy on Dominic... I have been thinking of making something for him out of lycra as a kind of support for his tumours. The biggest one is only a third its original size, but of course hangs down even worse now that it's just a ball of fat in a bag of skin. It's really getting in Dom's way as he tries to get about. I sort of thought a lycra sock buddy might hold the tumour up a bit and allow him more freedom to move. We'll see. First, I have to get a sock on him.

!!!

And that will require bandaids.

were not done yet he still has a long ways to go wearing his sock buddy, when he gets all of his feathers back then I will see what happens without a sock buddy , if he starts plucking again then the sock buddy will go right back on , actually I think he is slowly getting use to it and I can put it on him with no problem

Well it's quite possible that the pucking had turned into a habit rather than as a stress related issue, and if that is the case, then it's most likely he won't pluck (I hope) as he's gotten out of the habit by wearing the sock. In a perfect world :)
