Silus the camping Too!

This past week My wife and I took the family camping in No. Carolina. 2 Adults, 3 Kids, 2 Dogs and one Bird, Stuffed into an RV for a 10 hour road trip and 3 days of camping.

We returned a bit frazzled by really none the worse for wear.

For Silus, our Goffin, we converted the dog's crate into a travel cage. He loved his rolling home. We had the crate on the dinette table so he could see out the window, he loved it until big trucks went by, then he could not get to the far side of the cage fast enough. In the ten hour trip each way he made nary a peep until evening feeding time. He would play with his toys and nap or watch the scenery go by.

We thought traveling with the bird would be a pain, but he was better than the dogs and kids!

Yey! I think it's great to involve the birds (and pets in general) with travelling!

Hope you had a nice mini break, despite the kids Did Silus enjoy his time away? Merlins always sooo good during travel time too, especially if the radio is on!

Silus really seemed quite content. It my have been the proximity of all the activity, he was in the middle of everything.

The funny thing was to hear him fuss at everyone when it was his bedtime. He made us all go tobed on his schedule! (which was late enough!)

He really liked the evening cuddles and his naps on my chest while I watched tv.
