ETA 3 hours, y'all, and my new Rose Breasted Too shall be arriving from her breeder in Georgia! I am going crazy waiting for her to land at the airport!!! Literally, going out of my mind here--I'm supposed to be doing the work that does handy things like pays me money to pay my bills, but instead I am checking the clock every five minutes to make sure I'm not running late. ;) Her new cage is all set up, all her toys are out, now all I need is HER!

I am fairly sure I'm going to name her Lucille (maaaaybe after Hardison's van in 'Leverage' because I may possibly be just a tiny bit of a geek... Okay, I'm a giant geek), though I will have to meet her before I am 100% sure on the name. SO MUCH EXCITEMENT. Someone please CALM ME DOWN. :white1::white1::white1::eek::eek::eek:

I will post pictures as soon as I have them! Which will be in about THREE HOURS if all goes as planned!

Hah, love leverage! Though towards the end Nate just kinda gets obnoxious.

Congrats on the new RB though! I know the waiting is always the worse part!

I need to hurry up and invent a time machine in the future so I can bring it back for myself.

Mr Puck...I'm sitting here, all anxious with you brother ;)
Amy and BB and I are patiently sitting here, waiting for the first pictures and report on your new baby :)

She's here, and she is amazing! She is SO sweet! Such a DARLING bird! She has been so calm and chill so far, and so quick to enjoy being around people. I am soooo excited to get to know her better!

And BOY can she fly!!! She just swooped around my living room like a super hero!

Congrats! She is gorgeous and I am not a too fan. Really pretty birdie. And she is mellow also? Very happy for you!
Just make sure everyone in the house keep super viigilant on windows and doors especially.. if they re not used to being 'keepers of the door' disaster lurks. So the name is Lucille? Kewl.

Thanks! Yup, she is very mellow and Lucille is indeed her name! She's a tiny bit shy in the fact that she doesn't race to be held yet (not surprising considering she's got a whole new home AND rode on three airplanes today!), but she is easy to pick up and very friendly and calm--the breeder I got her from spends a LOT of time with her birds before shipping them out, so they tend to be very friendly and have a lot of people experience. So far she's been having a good time just hanging on top of her cage in the living room while I sit at my computer. She's been playing with her new toys, preening her feathers, and getting adjusted to her new home.

Luckily for me, I live alone so diligence with doors is generally not a problem as I am usually the only one who enters or exits the house--and when I do come and go, I usually enter or exit through an enclosed garage rather than a door that would lead to the outside.

She is so pretty are you planning on harness training her.

She is stunning, Mitch! Absolutely beautiful! I'm glad her trip was uneventful and she's safe in her new home.

Patrick the Pink Fluff sends his welcome to one of his kind. You'll love life with a Pinkie! Congratulations!

Thank you! Yes, I am. I have a harness for her already. :)

Thank you! I'm glad, too. I'm always so worried when animals get sent cargo--I just can't imagine how scary it must be for them. I'm really glad she seemed to have taken it so well. :white1:

Lucille sends her regards in return! I am super excited to get to know this girl! They are really such beautiful birds, and I have wanted one for so long! :D *dances* She actually has a REALLY pretty voice, too! (This coming from someone who thought his constantly screaming sun conure had a pretty voice, LOL. I sometimes wonder if my noise tolerance is a little off or if I just have bad hearing and don't realize it...)

I'm actually right next to Georgia. I wonder if you got her from who I think you did. They're really nice but are downsizing due a move, which is why they didn't hand rear my bird themselves, but outsourced her a few hours away to another trusted breeder who doesn't breed macaws. Be sure to send them pictures, once Lucille gets all comfy, as they really do appreciate updates. :)

Funny enough I immediately though of Lucille Ball. "I love Lucille" has dual meaning now.

Pretty girl! Congrats Puck, you must be so excited!

I love a 'too's dark, mysterious eyes! Lucille is very pretty Mitch ;),and for her to be sooo calm and enjoying stuff already says a lot about her breeder.
I see many a happy day between you and the young lady :D
How old is she??

Yup, I am pretty sure they are the same people because they're definitely in the midst of moving right now (Brightwood Aviary). Great breeders--I am really impressed by what a fantastic attitude Lucille seems to have toward people.

Lucille does sort of have "red hair" so I think she'd make a good Lucille Ball! ;). (Not to mention I grew up loving "I Love Lucy"!)
