Thanks! yes the beach is now Gilbert's favorite place. With the help of the wind, he can actually fly and he loves it. He is also fascinated with the sand......and our bag of snack mix (pretzels, peanuts, crispix cereal....)

Ruffledfeathers, you're blue crown looks huge! I noticed you used to have a sun conure. Would you say sun conures and blue crowns are comparable in size? Or are blue crowns bigger?

Ruffledfeathers, you're blue crown looks huge! I noticed you used to have a sun conure. Would you say sun conures and blue crowns are comparable in size? Or are blue crowns bigger?

He isn't huge but he is definitely bigger than Georgie was. I think BCCs are bigger than suns in general, comparable, but bigger. I don't have a 'bird scale' but i put him on my kitchen scale and he is about 5 oz. He is much more 'stocky' than Georgie was. When i first saw a blue crown in person, i did like that stocky build (compared to the suns, who i find to be very slender, graceful built little birds).
