Cage by patio doors?

Hi, im new to bird keeping, my parakeet cage is by a patio door that is permanently in use, being open and shut to let dogs out in/out, also access to garden. did he die because of the cold? With the door being open/closed woyld be like a,draft? Its been minus 4 in the UK. He went all puffedup, sneezing, runny nose, like a cold.

Oh dear... yeah. If the door is in constant use, then it's best to move the cage. So sorry to hear he passed

Breeder told me he would be ok. He was about 4 months old. I said be next to door but has permanent access to garden, bin shed and letting my dogs out. Its been very cold here. I should've thought when i took him out and his feathers were cold. The breeder said he was hardy but i never had a bird, i researched birds but not kakriki . On hind site i shouldve left when he had no rednecks.

Sorry to hear about your Bird...I have a Cover over my Bird cage to keep it cozy ..even in the summer ...I take my bird out of the cage and let him sit near patio door for sun ..I have no other pets ...I use another door if my bird is sunbathing when I go outside
