Severely clipped wings

Avian vets should be qualified.

It isn't terribly pricey:)

Personally I'd imp rather than let a poor fledgling baby bird be with a wing clip if it bothered me that much.

Babies shouldn't be clipped until they're well beyond weaned. And a light clip should be done, if any.

Poor baby:(

I agree, I have baby gcc's that I am weaning. I would never think of clipping them until they are fully fledged and then usually would ask the new owner what they would prefer. I wish I knew how to post a video for you, I just took a video the other night of two of mine taking their first little flight. I put their small cage on the floor and allowed then to take off from the top. It is so cute, but it would also show you how clumsy they are. Mine are just about a week behind yours. Mine will be 7 1/2 weeks this Saturday.

Often times when a baby has not had a chance to fledge yet, they are very unbalanced. I know a hyacinth who's wings were butchered right up to the actual wing bone, at 3 years old he has still not fledged and is horribly unbalanced. We are trying to exercise him and he him to take his first flight.

Clipping 5 feathers should not keep your baby from flying. We have LOTS of baby GCCs at work and we let them fly around in the baby room until they try and escape the door of the baby aviary -- then we clip 5 feathers or so. Within a week they can gain lift again, lol, little stinkers are lightweight and strong fliers!!!
