Here's a screech owl in my Pole barn in the rafters.
Must have gotten shut in there after I closed the over
head door unaware that it was in there.

Went in and something flew by me, looked up and the
Lil guy was just siting there looking at me. Thought
awww you gotten locked in here over night.

Took a couple pic's then opened the over head door
and le it freely fly away. So Nice...Made my day.

:smile015: Can you send him my way, pretty please? :D BEAUTIFUL bird!!

That's two owls around here....I think the screech owl lives here close by,
about the third time I seen it. I just love owls.

Gorgeous pic! Thanks for sharing

Thanks.....The screech is a regular around here. Somehow he gotten locked in the pole barn. We keep our chicken feed in there in metal cans, and the owls help keep the mice away. We also have a few regular Hawks as well that take their toll on birds in the yard.

I have to be careful about my birds out side...We have a screened gazebo 12 x 12 with perches inside so the parrots can all go out in there and enjoy the outdoors. I never leave them unattended, even though the gazebo is secure, we have bald eagles, osprey, harrier hawks, and sparrow hawks around, few owls, an occasional coyote which has come into the pole barn before. And lot's of deer, some wood chucks, And a big snapping turtle that ventured into the yard, and hoards of snakes that come from where ever.

Like a wild life sanctuary around here....

I'm sure you made HIS day also when you let him out! Wow, first the Snowy, then this... what kind will visit you next?!

Never know around here.... Have all sorts of birds that come into land or creek behind field or woods....we have 4 acres...

Couple years back we had some parrot sitting on a fence pole...all green I could tell..a ways off but still knew it was a parrot that escaped....however it vanished and couldn't get close to it....

Now if an Osprey comes down again I'll photograph that as well....I have
pic's last year which I can share of a bald eagle and osprey both in same area, which I found odd as they both are territorial. Have pic's of both which I will share.

We love birds...that includes wild birds as well and set our yard up to attract birds....we have 2 full families of humming birds that live at our trees...... And predatory hawks and owls as well.

The last I have seen an owl as close as you did, when I was in grade 6 studying in my class and suddenly all of classmates started screaming. I was so horrified at first too then my eyes landed on a beautiful owl sitting on the window. It was snow white in color, like a cotton ball. God, it was the most beautiful sight I have ever seen. And today you reminded me of that day, so beautiful creature, :)

Hey, nobody said there'd be homework.
I wondered whether MI meant Minnesota or Missouri, looked it up....

Neither! :D

Sounds like paradise.

Michigan.....shaped like a mitten.....today is the first day in well over a month we've been above freezing.....Yeay !!!! The Ice age has retreated....

Now I can thaw out some....nice in spring and summer here in Michigan....

Our cherry trees and apple trees have nice blossoms in spring.

Pretty trees. Owls. It must be so lovely there. sigh.

Yes it's quite nice in spring....and summer. We have thousands of lakes in Michigan... your never far from water.

Speaking...I have been to Sidney before for a month...help start up a company there in medical.

Was quite fun actually...bars stay open to the weeee morning hours....and went to the beach there....and was surprise if not stunned that people are quite open about just dropping all clothes and jumping in the water- Nude.
I was wondering at first if I was in the right place or stumbled upon the wrong beach.... Loved the hospitality of Sidney. The food was awesome.
The long flight was what killed me.
