Sweet! The Nape is very young, right? Not much yellow showing. How long are you fostering?

How sweet is that?! Sally sure is a tender sweetie isn't she? If these 2 like each other so much, you may have got yourself a 6th bird:D Bob looks to be eating up the love and affection from one of his own kind:)

That photo was around 8 years old. We had Bob for two years. His owner was going through a messy divorce, and moved to a place where he couldn't keep her.

He stayed with us til his owner got back on his feet. And if you would have seen the way that bird lit up when his owner came back for him... TWO YEARS LATER - HE REMEMBERED!!!

Sally loved Bob, but if you'd have seen it, you know that bird was bonded to his owner.

The nape was 20-something... I don't recall now. This was a long time ago. It's just the angle these were shot at.

Thats nice that you've watched other peoples birds in tough situations like that. I bet Bob was happy to go back to his owner then. Does Sally preen the other birds like that?

Some of the other amazons she has. Papaya, my little sun conure used to sit inside my shirt with just his head sticking out. She'd do my eyebrows, and then reach down and do his little head...

She DOES NOT LIKE Lila for some reason. One of the only other amazons I have brought home that she actually has taken a dislike to, for god knows what reason. Lila is bonded to Tusk, and in a separate bird room, so they each have their space...

If I handle both of them at once during breeding season, Sally tends to get mad and pinch me. (I have a bruise on my shoulder now from Tusk and Lila waddling over to me to be picked up while handling Sally. Picked them up anyway. She grudgingly accepted it. The pinch was her way of letting me know she did not approve of me flirting with "that other woman."

I think it is awesome that you are willing and able to help people keep their birds when they are in a tough spot. I can't imagine how much that meant to his owner and to Bob for him to be able to go home again. You are quite the amazing person, Mark.

Well, essentially, Sally and Bob were playmates down at the rescue, they loved each other to death like from the instant they met. I knew this guy from the rescue. He and his wife split up. He was given a 3 day notice to get rid of the bird or get evicted...

Was I going to say no?! And that bird pitched a major fit when his owner came to visit, and came back for him. There was NO WAY I would be keeping them apart.

If it were my bird?! That would kill me...

What was I supposed to say?! He's mine now Sucka!!!

Ummm... No!

And at the time, there were so many Foster's coming and going... One more who's well behaved, and already knows, and loves my birds. Having him was fun! He and Sally used to dance around the playstand all night.
