Oh my gosh Wendy , ours is nothing compared to yours ! I guess new jersey is getting hit more then long island. Today we have a delayed school because of the snow .
I didn't have any snow at all where I am. I really didn't want snow on my bday anyway. There was a little snow at work. Enough to look pretty but that's it. I feel for all those that are still struggling with this weather crap.
As for the damage, once we had daylight, and I looked around my garden, I broke down into tears. My big Magnolia lost a huge branch, my 13 year old Lilac was tipped over, the Pergola prevented it from falling down completely. My tree hydrangea - gone....not to mention many other perennials I've been babying for many years. And my roses! Once the snow has completely melted I'll know better which shrubs/roses are goners and which ones just sustained damage.
I swear, Sandy was a piece of cake (for me) compared to the damage this heavy, wet snow caused. Of course I should NOT be pitying myself over plants, as there are still way too many people without power, water, heat. etc.
It RARELY snows here, good thing too, cause we have absolutely no clue how to drive in it. Now it can get VERY cold here due to the humidity, my skinny lil butt HATES cold weather!!
Wow, we hardly got anything here. We got some sleet and rain at my house. Where I work it was snowing pretty heavy. It was quite odd. I drove 20 minutes and it was a total difference from the weather at my house.
