Hello everyone! This is my first time owning a macaw. He is blue and gold and full of personality! He is 2 and a half and I see through several websites that they may go through a terrible twos phase. O_O We have had him for one day and so far so good. He says come here, pretty boy and cracker. He has been rehomed twice so I hope he adjusts well. He definitely likes to be in the same room as everyone and starts calling out come here and pretty boy when alone. I hope to learn a lot from this forum!

Welcome to the forums! Macaws are great! I have a 16 year old B&G who is still going thru the terrible twos! LOL But seriously, enjoy your macaw, and be patient. They will test you and try your patience, but they are great family members. Would love to see some pictures!

Congratulations on your new macaw!


My guy is about to turn 2, but he is still as cuddly as he was as a baby!

I think it is all about how you train and interact with them! They won't go through that 'terrible twos' stage if you train what is acceptable.. I am not sure, just my guy isn't trying to 'test' me now that he is a bit older!!

It won't be until they are older they might change and become a bit more challenging because of their hormones !



There is always lots to learn hahaha

Just lots of patience, and you will have a best friend for life!

Hopefully he settles in soon! Poor baby being in 2 homes already!
