Rocky's taxi

My husband built this rolling stand for Rocky so that we can drag him around (so *I* can drag him around!) with us all over the house. He's so clingy and needy that he can't be left alone for more than 10 seconds if he knows we're home.

So ... I go to the bathroom, he comes along. I go to hang out with the little parrots, he comes along. I fold laundry, he comes along. I do dishes, he comes along. I told him the other day that I don't know which of us is more ridiculous, him insisting on being rolled around with me or me for doing it. And Hubby said, "I know which of you is more ridiculous." Harrumph. Okay, okay, it's me. I know it's me. But Rocky has to take his share of the blame for being such a squawky Rocky when I go out of his sight, ever so briefly.

haha :D
But in the end you have a very content and happy Rocky. :35:
Good for you!

Please, if you can post a picture. I'd love a visual. ;)

You can buy these rolling platforms at home improvement stores and Hubby just built the taxi onto one of those. It's kind of awkward but I push Rocky around on it and he's quite happy to be carried around like a rajah. LOL When he gets restless, I get him a snack and stand there and hold it while His Royal Highness eats it, and then get him a drink and hold that, too. And I tell him I went to college and have a responsible job and yet I'm a servant to a cockatoo, and he looks at me like, "And your point is???"

I should encourage my husband to build one for Levi. :D

That room was formerly the breezeway in this house (I grew up in it and moved back in after my parents passed away). It's also the laundry room, as you can see. It was sort of my mom's "she shed," and she painted a mural on the walls, heavy on the theme of "birds" (she liked birds, too, but wild ones) and she called that room "The Birdcage." So when we moved in, it was painfully obvious that we should make that the birds' room. There are three boings, so no waiting. Freddie sleeps on that hanging lamp. The fish tanks are in there both to entertain the birds and because the utility sink makes water changes easier. The TV with the VCR and DVD player are there so I can watch endless Star Trek and Starsky and Hutch and Queen concerts without driving my husband crazy. There's a screen door between that room and the rest of the house so the birds are never locked up, and the back door leads into a storage area, so there's no direct access to the outdoors.
