A Refuge for Saving the Wildlife, in Northern Illinois has many parrots looking for forever homes. They openly indicate that they DO NOT do adoptions out of Illinois. Unfortunately, they also DO NOT do adoptions 3 hours south in Illinois. (Too long a trip to conduct pre-adoption home visits.)
Unfortunately for me, I tried to adopt the African Grey shown below. Her name is Luna.
